Turkey's In The Woods!

I know it's been WEEKS since my last post, but I've been very busy with the new job. I really do love it, even though I come home sore as heck each night. Right now the store is not open and we are setting up everything. This means unloading EVERYTHING from huge boxes they call Gaylords. These boxes are about 4' tall and me being all of 5'3" ... well lets just say I've come up with some really creative ways of getting stuff off the bottom of the boxes. (mostly it involves a hanger) Today we did books. Fun stuff to be sure. I work with a great group of people and we had quite a bit of fun with some of the titles of the books. Of course, the books on Menopause were aimed at me...lol Anyway, it is a very large job opening a new store and I'm enjoying every minute of it. On to the turkey's... Last Friday I got up at 6am as usual, made my coffee and went outside to feed my cat and have a smoke. (yeah...I know.. I should quit...but it's my last bad habit) So I'm sitting on the edge of the pool, enjoying my smoke and coffee when I hear the leaves rustling behind the fence, which is behind me. I thought it might be some of the deer so I rose very slowly as not to scare them away. I looked up and saw...TURKEY'S! At first I didn't know what they were. Not geese, too tall for geese and certainly too big to be pheasants. All it took was for one to "gobble" and I knew what they were. I was so excited, here were 4 turkey's roaming the hill behind the house and no one else was up to see it! I knew they wouldn't believe me when I told them... I'm sure Laura would laugh at me and say "Oh Mom, you're crazy, there's no turkey's around here". So I got the camera out and took some pictures. They did'nt seem to notice me and I watched them as they came down the hill and then went across the street. I have seen and experienced so many new and different things since moving here...
I love Tennessee!
