Teaching An Old Dog Some New Tricks!
It's been awhile since my last post! I've been busy with my scrapbooking and eBay the past few weeks.
Laura and Jeff... in their infinite wisdom, have decided that I need a "real job", which means one not working for them. Since moving to Tennessee my job has become less and less. I still do the advertising, websites and graphics, but I'm not needed on a daily basis. I'm down to working 3 days a week (which I don't mind at all!) but they feel I need more income. I no longer have a car, I sold it when I left California, and they think I need one. Mind you.. this is all "them"...I'm happy the way I am...but what do I know! lol
So yesterday I went to a job fair at the chamber of commerce and I found a job! I start my orientation next Monday, working for a new Good Will Store that will open here in town in December. Not a very glamorous job you say? After being a waitress/restaurant manager for 26 years I have a lot of experience in "customer service"... And I love meeting new people and serving the public. The new store is very close to home, about a mile and I think it is a good starting place in retail. Since I'm starting "at the bottom" I can always work my way up! I'll also get a first look at the bargins! lol ... Although I was told I would have to wait a week after the items are in the store for sale before I am allowed to purchase them.
Anyway.... I'm excited and nervous all at the same time about starting a new job. I've worked for Laura and Jeff for the past 8 years, longer than I've ever worked for anyone. I thought that working for them would be my last job, never thought I'd be starting a new "career" at 55 years of age.
Quick update on my weight, I'm 3 lbs from my goal of 199 by Nov 17th (my birthday) almost there!!

Sue, I'm so happy for you! The new job at Goodwill sounds like alot of fun. I love shopping at thrift stores and yard sales. Heck, you find the BEST stuff there at really great prices. I hope this ends up being what YOU want. Congratulations on your weight loss ... I'm sure you will exceed your weight loss goal BEFORE your birthday! Love Ya!
